Spring (March-May)
Best overall. 15-25dC. Cherry blossoms in Xi''an, peonies in Luoyang, West Lake willows in Hangzhou. Avoid Labor Day (May 1-5).
Autumn (Sept-Nov)
Second best. Clear skies, golden light. Xi''an city wall at sunset in October is the best Hanfu photo condition. Avoid National Day (Oct 1-7).
Summer (June-Aug)
Hot 30-38dC. Tang ruqun is lightweight. Shoot mornings only. School holiday crowds July-Aug.
Winter (Dec-Feb)
Cold but empty sites. Ming aoqun layers well. CNY closes businesses 3-5 days but festive atmosphere is magical.
